A most romantic vintage specimen gemstone dress ring dating to the 1920's and showcasing a gorgeous natural cushiony shaped hand faceted Aquamarine. In lovely condition with feature double claws and trifurcate shoulders to the setting, we have weighed the beautiful lively Aquamarine at a nice 5.93 carats. There is a lovely mystique around the Aquamarine; the name coming from the Latin for seawater aqua marina and it was once believed to come from the treasure chests of mermaids and so to protect sailors against shipwreck.
A member of the Beryl family (like Emerald) this example was carefully cut to show lovely sparkles to the edges and is a gentle pale blue exactly as her name would suggest.
The mount was fashioned to suit in 15ct Gold which was a standard used solely in Britain between the years of 1854-1932 and is marked inside the band alongside the maker's mark for Henry Williamson Ltd of Farringdon Road in London and Spencer Street in Birmingham.
The ring size is an 'L' or '5.75' as is but we can alter somewhat for fit.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift. You can download our handy ring sizing guide here, but don't hesitate to contact us if you need further help with this. If visiting us size adjustments can usually be done in around an hour-ish.
