An adorably sweet example of the Georgian Agate specimen brooch which was popular around the 1810's. Smoothly polished to a tactile gloss which shows the how the gorgeous naturally swirled toffee Agate section has a variety of warm autumnal golden colours and is simply set in a fine gold mount with alternating triple, double and single claw details. The pressed repousse style frame bordering this is beautifully be-flower'd and the whole a romantic highland dream.
Of a rose hued alloy base metal, it has a simple hinged pin to the reverse typical of the pieces from this era and all is in great condition. Measures 3cm lengthwise. Read about the fashion for Scottish themes in clothing and jewellery here.
