Georgian Natural Seed Pearl & Diamond Earrings

The floweresque tops to these incredible natural Sea Pearl tassell earrings are all a-gliitter with a glamour of stunning early Perruzi cut and Rose cut Diamonds dating the 17th century. Fashioned of old, the two elements of these earrings did not start life together but have been paired up sometime in their long history and we must say we feel they work just magically.... such fascinating beauty, a precious possession these will be, admiring glances drawn as they tremble below the ear articulating at two points. The Natural Saltwater Pearl tassels date to the late 18th century and would most likely once been part of a larger parure of Seed Pearl jewellery. Tiny seed Pearls were collected by hand diving in the Gulf of Mannar, painstakingly hand drilled and then threaded to create beautifully breathtaking jewellery for the Western market. 

We have had the threading and gimp replaced for strength on the articulated section. They measure 6cm from the top of the 18ct yellow gold wires and we estimate the Diamond weight to be around 0.30ct each ear.
