A beautifully inspired and whimsical dream, this antique Pearl and Diamond ring is an adorable survivor from a century and a half ago. The gems are creamy and lustrous wild Pearls and miniature hand cut 'rose' Diamonds which have been woven into this romantic design showing the cathedral inspired arched gallery which became fashionable around this time and came out of the Gothic Revival Movement.
Every aspect was worked by hand (this can all be seen under magnification) including the tiny tracery of dots which lines the setting and shoulders. The band has a full hallmark inside which shows it was assayed as 18ct Gold at the Birmingham Office in 1869.
The Gothic Revival mood evokes a sense of dark beauty, mystery and timelessness, drawing inspiration from Gothic architecture and literature. It often features elements like pointed arches and heavy ornamentation.
A very special piece which is ideally for careful wear; the ring size is an 'O' or '7' as is but there is some room for adjustment with a couple of sizes or so each way. Simply leave a not on your order form.
Most of our rings can be adjusted to fit for free, this can be done on purchase by making a note in the order form if you know the size, or at a later date if it is a gift. You can download our handy ring sizing guide here, but don't hesitate to contact us if you need further help with this. If visiting us size adjustments can usually be done in around an hour-ish.
