A much loved Rococo styled antique mourning band with a personal dedication to 'My dear sister Hannah Painter 23rd September 1849 aet. 35'. In 18ct yellow Gold with a gentle aged patina, this piece has been loved and worn, the inscription to the inner is poignantly smoothed with age, but the black enamel highlighting the Gothic lettering 'IN MEMORY OF' is in good shape considering its age.
Hannah and her family lived at The George Canning Public House, Effra Road in Brixton, London from the 1840's-1850's. Her parents would appear to be Charles and Mary Painter, licensed victuallers. She is buried at Norwood Cemetery in Lambeth.
A ring size 'P' or '8' we cannot adjust the size due to the design.
